Stay tuned.

Scott and I have undertaken a bit of a home improvement project to our kitchen, that turned into almost a remodel. At the very least it is a make-over. :) When we moved in, last April/May the kitchen was okay..it is an "eat in kitchen" so it is fairly large. The walls were a mat (chalky looking) deep red. There appeared to be some sort of a faux finish gone wrong on them as well. So when we moved in, we thought the kitchen needed a bit of brightening. So we painted it a muted yellow called Belgian Waffle. The kitchen was looking better but still could use some updating. So we decided to paint the kitchen cabinets white. Well, that was just a disaster I don't want to get in to. But we are in the process of re-painting them, and they are just about complete! Don't let anyone tell you that painting cabinets is easy...it isn't.
So after seeing what the bright and clean white looked like with our counter tops we were pleased, but against the walls...we were one step away from country kitchen with cornflower blue accents. ick. We went immediately to lowes and picked out a deep orange-ish color (NOT Red, we couldn't do red out of pure principal) The color is Martha Stewart brick hearth (if you feel like looking it up). And we are in the process of installing a beaded board wainscotting on the bottom half of the exposed walls and a small glass tiled backsplash. There WILL be pictures soon. I just need to get the project completed. Estimated completion date: Saturday!

That will be one week! :) Not too bad, unless you realize that all of our dishes and pantry are and have been unavailable. But no complaints. Can't wait to see it all finished.

Pictures next time!
