Crossing things off!

Ok a few days ago I posted a list of potential items to get crossed of this weekend. I knew I made the list a little unattainable but I am happy to report...:

*clean out garage in preparation for a garage sale (DONE)
*catch up on laundry (DONE)
*give the house a light clean (DONE)
*organize my new dresser
*organize our file system
*go for a bike ride

So now those other 3 have been bumped to this week's chores. Hooray I just may get through the list. :)

blogging can be socially dangerous.

Thank you for all of your comments on the last post! I am feeling much more like a normal person, knowing that you all don't have "house beautiful" non stop. -However, I didn't hear from my sister, and that is because I am pretty sure her house is always "house beautiful" boy can that girl run a household..Did I mention she has a son too? Goodness.

You know how you have all of these fun blogs that you read sometimes daily and you just feel like you know the person? Either you are connected to the blogger via a mutual friend, or just found it through another person's blog and really liked it so you added it onto your list right?

Well I do that occassionally and I don't really think much about it, most are cooking people or interior design geniuses, anyways that's besides the point.

I was out to dinner with Scott one night and saw a fellow blogger. I know this person, but it is kind of a friend of a friend type situation. But when they walked through the door of the restaurant, I almost waved spastically and said hello "first, last /blog name" -of course I did. But thank goodness I realized that the person really wouldn't recognize who I was and thankfully I calmed down and didn't wave. Just regained composure. ha ha.

Blogging can sometimes make for some socially awkward situations...thank goodness that time it was averted.

Lists and the lack of time in a day.

I make a list just about everyday. Usually at the beginning of the day, mentally. I think of how I will go home that evening and cook dinner, and re-organize a closet, then after that still have time to take a walk or excersize throw in some laundry, sweep the floor. Then its 5pm and I go home, and I am so hungry. I find something to eat or we go out then basically after those dishes are put away, i crash. I can never find my morning energy in the evening. It is a little depressing. How do you all have time to do that kind of stuff. Also I feel like some of you out there are just practically perfect, you cook gourment dinners, clean, have family time, help with homework etc. and still have time to read a book or blog. My house does not run that way. There is always something dangling.

Last night we had to do some shopping, when we finally got home at 9pm, all i could do was unload the dishwasher and then of course, re fill it. But waiting for me was a pile of laundry to be folded, clothes to rotate into a closet (i was using an armoire for a dresser-that doesn't work) laundry to be washed, a floor to be cleaned, a bathroom to be tidy-ed oh and a new book to read. Ugh. I just accepted deafeat and stepped over the mound of clothes in the floor that used to be in the armoire and hopped into bed without cracking my book.

So I am hoping that all of you will leave me your advice on how you get it all done.

And in an effort to finally complete a list. I am posting mine here, so that I can report back with all of the things I got crossed off.

Weekend List:
*clean out garage in preparation for a garage sale
*catch up on laundry
*give the house a light clean
*organize my new dresser
*organize our file system.
*go for a bike ride and photograph-so that i can show you bloggies my new bike.

Scott's Birthday Weekend.

Poor Scott, it didn't seem to be much of a birthday weekend for him. Friday we celebrated by going out to Loca Luna- it was wonderful as always and our good friends the Wilkerson's (http://livingthehomelife.blogspot.com/) came with us and hung out at our house for cake afterwards. I surprised Scott with a birthday cake with the Volkswagen symbol on it, I just thought it would be a fun surprise. He really loves his car. :) He enjoyed the cake, it was home made by one of our friends at http://www.babybyrds.com/.

Isn't it sooo cute, she made homemade buttercream icing and all...yum-delicious!
Saturday Gracen, Stefan, and I hosted a shower for our great friend Nicole who is getting married in Florida on September 5th. We had a great turn out and Nicole got so many great gifts. But poor scott was exiled from the house for 2 hours :(.
On sunday we went and picked up a brand new bike. However it was for me, not Scott. Scott bought a road bike earlier in the year and has been really enthused about riding it, but needed a partner, so he kept looking for a bike for me. Well this week there was one just my size in the newspaper. So we called on it and brought it home. We went for our first ride on Sunday and I must say it was amazing! I just loved how fast we could go. What a beautiful city we live in!
I will have to take pictures of my bike when we go out again - maybe today. oh yeah, the best part about the bikes is that they match!!! :) Hopefully i can continue August as Scott's birthday month!!!

Birthdays!

A few weeks ago I had my 26th birthday. I felt like I was actually growing up but when I say the number out loud it sounds still so young. It was a perfect weekend though. My mom and sister came to Little Rock to do some much needed catching up and shopping! We had a great time! Scott gave me such a perfect present! Tickets to the Murder Mystery dinner at Little Rock's most haunted place the MacAurthur Military (museum i think). The date is August 25th, and I can not wait!

Today however is Scott's 28th birthday! He has recently gotten into road biking and needed a way to transport his bike so I got him a bike rack for our car. :) He loved it! I gave it to him a day early - I can never wait for a good surprise! Tonight we will be going out for Birthday dinner and then comming back to our house with a few friends for birthday cake.

This weekend Gracen, Stefan and I are hosting a shower for Nicole!!! She is getting married in a little under a month on a beautiful beach in Florida. I can't wait for her wedding and I think we will have a great time this weekend!

What are everyone else's weekend plans?

Number 6 please.

Long time. No blog.

Well there is really only one explanation for this. I got an iphone. Since then it has taken over my life, and I love it. I have been winning arguments like crazy lately, b/c all of the knowledge to back up my point is at the tip of my fingers! There will likely be many more, iphone amazement posts in the future.

My latest kick I have been on deals with food. I have been a long time picky eater. But lately I started thinking. If they create a burger or sandwich, why in the world would they put toppings that don't go well with it, or don't enhance the burger/sandwich flavor. After that, I have been ordering things as is, a spicy chicken sandwich from Wendy's , that's it. No "may I have a number 6 please, ketchup only...or hold the, or add this..." and you know what, it is a life changer. My waits at the drive thru have never been easier. Just thought I would share that little info with you all.
